This hairdressing salon is an intervention, inserting a densely packed series of coinciding events into a fifty-two square metre space fronting a narrow laneway in Melbourne.

Flexible joinery in constant states of transformation allow a changing spatial definition determined by the activities within.

These configurable elements allow for spaces to be folded and unfolded, to function as: a stage for teaching; stations to work collaboratively or individually, with single or multiple viewpoints; gallery and demonstration venue.

The various iterations accommodate different programs and engender different experiences. They encourage new possibilities and unexpected forms of occupation.
